Guestbook

Barbara ""Pete"" was a wonderful person to know. She brought special joy to my soul at chapter meetings in New York. I will always remember the moment when she found out I was from Beaufort, SC, she immediately said, ""Girl you are my family"" and we built a very closed bond. I will truly miss her humor. My condolences and prayers to the family. Earnestine Simmons

Barbara was a lovely person and kept everyone laughing. I met her in a New York Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority meeting. She worked hard and played hard; a good person and helped everyone. I will forever remember her nice kind words she would tell me while I was President.

Dear Soror Pete, Thank you for your radiant smile and awesome sense of humor! You always had the gift to say the right thing at the right time. In 2003, you welcomed me into the New York Alumnae fold with care and loving kindness. May you rest in peace and power. Love you so, Soror Monique Fortun

So sorry to hear of ""Pete's"" transition. She was my ""special sister"" and while in NY she was just that- very special and very funny. I recall her message to all when asked if she was a Dear and her response was "" I am a Delta Near"". I pray that you are at peace!

My Dear Soror Pete,
Thank you for your warm smile and wisdom. You welcomed me into New York Alumnae Chapter and was a mentor in so many ways. Sleep In Paradise. We love and miss you so. My condolences and prayers to your family.

I am deeply sadden by the passing of my classmate. We were not just classmates, but during the summer we would spend lime with her grandmother in Georgetown, SC. We both had families there. Rest with God my sister.

Soror ""Pete"" was my Sands, having pledged the line ""Against All Odds"" in the New York Alumnae Chapter in F'86. She always made me laugh with her greeting, ""Eu-GENE-Yuh!"" and I would reply, ""PEEEEET"" and we would laugh about being country girls in big time New York City. I miss those days, and her joy and the spirit of sisterhood and family she brought to every occasion. Rest in the Lord, Sands, and we'll see you in eternity. May your memory bring comfort and joy to your family and all who loved you.
