Blondell B Doucet

Blondell Brown Doucet, born October 31st, 1951 passed away on January 5th, 2019. Blondell was born in Charleston, South Carolina to Mary Lee and Elijah Brown, Sr., who preceded her in death. She was one of six children (Elijah Junior (who preceded her in death), Jerrold, Rufus (who preceded her in death), Frank, and Janith. She grew up on Rutledge Ave, then moved to Jackson Street and was educated in the public school system in Charleston County, graduating from C.A. Brown High School in 1968.

She married Norman P. Doucet, Sr. in 1970, and to that union was born one child, Norman P. Doucet, Jr., who was her pride and joy. Blondell loved music and was a magnificent vocal talent, and entertained many friends and strangers both in church and out.

She is survived by her son, Norman Doucet, her daughter-in-law, Rachel Doucet, two grandchildren, Eloise and Agatha Doucet, siblings, Jerrold and Brenda Brown, Frank Brown and Janith Brown, her long-time special friend James Tolbert, and nephews, nieces, and cousins, including: Elijah, Rufus Jr., Lamont, Cameron, Jerrod, Rishad, Sabrina & Louis, Jermaine, Preston, Shiyanne, Reniesha, Sabri, and Leola.

Blondell touched the lives of all who knew her and never missed an opportunity to have a long conversation with anyone. She sacrificed much so that she could raise and provide opportunities for her son and lived through both good times and bad, optimistic, but realistic. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend and will be missed dearly.

Guestbook

Expressions of sincere sympathy are being extended for the death of your loved one. Death's pains are hard, very difficult and sad days are ahead... (Job 10:1). At the end of a tunnel there is always light. That light is from our creator. Isaiah 25:8, points to the removal of death forever. Revelation 21:3-4 reads, ""No more death"". Psalm 37: 9-11 gives us a different hope, notice righteous mankind including those who have died will live on a restored and peaceful earth. What a blessing that will be as you await this time, continue to lean on loving support of family and friends (Proverbs 18:24).

My condolences to the Doucet family. I pray God continue to comfort the family during this difficult time. May the many cherished and fond memories of Blondell continue to comfort her family and friends. A comforting thought to keep in mind is at Revelation 21:4 ""And he (GOD) will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain will be anymore. The former things have passed away."" May you all have calming thoughts during this time.

My deepest sympathy in the loss of your beloved mother. When a loved one falls asleep in death it grieves the heart. Our loving heavenly father, the father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) want all to look to him for comfort. Psalm 34:18 says; Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit. Also Psalm 94:19 states; ""When anxieties overwhelmed me. You (God) comforted and soothed me"". May these scriptures help you cope with the sadness and grief at this time of bereavement. For more comfort please visit our website: www.jw.org and view the video: Is There Hope for the Dead? Norman and Family,
Sorry to learn of the passing of your mother. Although I have not seen her in many years, I do remember her passion to provide you a safe home to live in during your teen years in North Charleston.
May she rest in peace. You and your family are in thoughts and prayers.
Regards,
Joe Lucas

I did not know Norms pretty mother, and read here of her dedication to her son- a good woman! She had to be proud of the family and sweet granddaughters I do know- so sweet and smart!

Offering sincere condolences. I am so very sorry for the loss of your loved one. No doubt this is a very difficult time for the family. Please find comfort in knowing that soon our Heavenly Father (Psalm 83:18) will give those who have fallen asleep in death the opportunity to live again (Acts 24:15) and serve him in a world under much better conditions than what we see today. (Psalm 37:29; Rev. 21:4,5)
