Hello Family, I am truly saddened to have heard of the passing of my childhood friend Gerald. I left SC when Gerald and I finished the 5th grade at Frierson. From there, I ran into Gerald once when we were in High School and I came home for a visit. It would be several years that I would come to learn of his accident, and that he was in the nursing home on Wadmalaw. I went to see him, and did on every visit for a few years. I was on Wadmalaw inSeptember of 2018 and found out that he was no longer there, with no further information. It was in mid January that my aunt, Rita Heywardremembered that I knew Gerald, and informed me of his passing.
I am truly sorry for your loss, and that I was never able to meet his wife or any of hischildren. I pray that we can some day make that connection. I do have family on James Island, (Sol Legare) as well. I have included my email, and, if I hear back from anyone, I will definitely reach out on my next visit.
In the meantime, I pray that the many memories that you have created through the years will bring you all comfort. Keith Heyward

My deepest sympathy in the loss of your beloved family member. When a loved one falls asleep in death it grieves the heart. Our loving heavenly father, the father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) want all to look to him for comfort. Psalm 34:18 says; Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit. Also Psalm 94:19 states; ""When anxieties overwhelmed me. You (God) comforted and soothed me"". May these scriptures help you cope with the sadness and grief at this time of bereavement. For more comfort please visit our website: www.jw.org and view the video: Is There Hope for the Dead?
