Mr. Alston was preceded in death by his parents; John Alston, Sr. and Martha Alston, and his son; Garnett McCray, Jr. his grandson; Lionel J. Alston, Jr.  Mr. Alston is survived by his wife; Rev. Dr.  Lenora McCray-Alston, his children; Johnathan S. Alston, Sr., Jamar Green, Lionel J. Alston, Ebone’ McCray, Stephen J. A. Alston and a host of other relatives and friends.
